Publication: The final revised papers of the preprints are published in Vol. 6, No. 4, December 1996 issue of the International Journal of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISSN 1053-5381).  The first paper is the summary of the Workshop. The contents of all preprint papers except that of Igor M. Sborshchikov were revised upon peer review after the Symposium.  Verbal presentations without preprints were made at the Workshop by: D.R.. Yoerger, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, USA, on Surveying a Subsea Lava Flow Using the Autonomous Benthic Explorer (ABE); and H. Chiu, Amoco Production Company, USA, on Technical Issues for Deep-Ocean Petroleum Exploration and Production.
